Oven Temperatures and Conversion

One of the things which often stops one from baking is when a recipe says “you have to preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit“. May be you are living outside  United States like me and only use  Celsius as a unit for measurement of temperature. Or may be you don’t possess an electric oven which has only gas mark and doesn’t define the degrees of temperature. If you are in similar dilemma you have reached the right place. Yes, microwave does not function in the same way as Traditional Ovens plus the bread and cake doesn’t bake the same in the two brother ovens separated by technology.   1. I am not an expert on FAN assisted ovens. But since you raised this query I googled it to find some satisfying answer for you. They say generally the temperature for the fan forced oven should be reduced by 20C/50F but as ovens do vary it is suggested that you check your manufacturer's handbook for more specific instructions. Fan forced oven can be very strong because they have a fairly consistent temperature throughout so whenever you bake always start checking your cake or dish for "doneness" slightly earlier than the cooking time stated in the recipe.   2. this is a yummy cake recipe. I baked banana cake many times without flakes seeds. Now I will try this. Ihave microwave convection oven with grill, oven ,combi, microwave and convection. On which mode I should bake the cake.
